Abstract

This research analyses and describes the characteristics of the migrants networks in Spain and its relation with the new information technologies (ICT), and to look critically if these are a versatile model that facilitates social relations towards more complex environments, or, on the other hand, these are causing some problems like socio-digital exclusion and the known as digital divide between the immigrant's network. This is a comparative and descriptive study and of virtual ethnography. The results show that the incorporation of these tools in a general level is too low, as well as the level of training of the people in charge. This situation indicates that work should be done in programs for the training in the use of ICT for the users and administrators of the associations of migrants that facilitate its incorporation in the new digital city that we are living now and in the use of the web 2.0.
