The aim of this paper is to compare the policies on welcoming immigrants in Canada with the experience of Gladys —a Mexican immigrant settled in Quebec—, in the film A Silent Love (2004). This article relates to the interculturality and the spousal sponsorship policies in Canada and Quebec. It presents the plot of the movie A Silent Love, also an analysis of federal Multiculturalism in that country and the Interculturalism in Quebec. Additionally, it shows an overview of Mexican immigration to Canada and a comparative analysis between Spousal Sponsorship in Quebec and the film A Silent Love.
