Entrepreneurship on the border: the case of Haitian migrants in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico

The objective of this article is to document the entrepreneurships created by Haitian migrants that have settled permanently in the city of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico to determine how they affect the socio-labor integration of this group from the network theory approach. The methodology is qualitative, in principle the documentary analysis of network theory and the theoretical-conceptual approach to entrepreneurship as a tool for migrant integration is carried out. Subsequently, field work is carried out through interviews with key actors who in this case are Haitian entrepreneurs using the snowball technique. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are made on the areas of opportunity that the enterprises provide to migrants in their integration process in border cities.
