Abstract

The Dignity Campaign project aims to defend temporary agricultural migrant workers with H-2A Visas and migrants in general. This article takes a first look at their study and particularly tries to understand why its members affirm that H-2A Visas “do not represent a benefit for farm workers” and that these Mexican migrants are “the new braceros.” Methodologically we will start from Participatory Action Research (PAR) that will allow the accompaniment of the group, prioritizes the discourses of those involved and move towards social justice. And to understand why the Bracero Program is considered by the Campaign as the fundamental historical antecedent, we turn to the History of the Present Time in order to notice the representation of the past as an integral part of the present. Outlining the emergence, objectives and construction of discourses, contributes to consolidate the first phase of the Campaign, from the PAR: Self-Diagnosis.
